Our campus
Contemplative garden
We are privileged to have a beautiful garden on our grounds, which has been creatively designed in the shape of a Celtic cross. The range of luscious trees, bushes, and flowers spread throughout the various quadrants of the garden are an oasis for local birdlife and provide a peaceful sanctuary for prayer and reflection. Visitors to the College are welcome to take a wander through the garden and may occasionally encounter staff and students taking a break from studies and the regular routines of life.
History of the garden
In 2004, around three hundred ‘Early Pearly’ camellias were planted to form the initial outline of the cross, with the rest of the garden gradually added between 2008 and 2011.
The garden was designed by Lynda Jellyman, with murals by Wayne Robinson and Frances Esveld, and is maintained by Eastwest staff, students, and volunteers.
Library
The Chee Memorial Library is the academic library of Eastwest College. The 490 sq m. library holds about 17,650 titles represented by 23,000 copies of books, electronic resources, and audio-visual media resources.
Study areas, study carrels, and computer access for students are also provided without extra charge for students. The library currently holds about 40 printed journal titles with archives.
The library’s collection is modern and is aimed primarily at the coursework needs of the student body. Accordingly, the collection has a broad range of theological and biblical resources as well as a strong focus on cross-cultural ministry and missions. The library’s collection is expanding rapidly and is available for use by visitors for a token annual fee.
Learning Spaces
The college has grown remarkably since its early days. Back then, it was simply an open field with a bold vision and big dreams.
Accommodation
Eastwest is a signatory to The Education (Pastoral Care of Tertiary and International Learners) Code of Practice 2021. We aim to provide a community-oriented, supportive and comfortable living environment where students can thrive both personally and academically.
All units are thoughtfully equipped with everything individuals and families need to live and learn in comfort and safety.
Experience a home away from home on our campus with clean, tidy and well-maintained accommodation units. These examples show what each space—family area, bedroom, or lounge—can look like.
All our accommodation is fully owned and managed by Eastwest. Students staying in Eastwest accommodation will sign an Accommodation Agreement outlining the shared commitments between the college and residents, with a focus on wellbeing and safety.
Single students are accommodated in shared units. Typically, each student has their own bedroom within a unit. However, depending on student numbers and availability, there may be occasions where two students share a bedroom. It is all part of learning and growing in faith and friendship along the way.
