Children in Crisis Module 3: Hands that Heal: Sexually exploited and trafficked children
Trainers: Becky & Graham Bee, WEC, Australia
(Level 5, 5 credits)
This ¡°Children in Crisis?module deals with children who have been sexually exploited or trafficked into the sex industry. This is something that is rampant in many overseas countries, but it is also happening in our own Western society. This course will be extremely useful to inspire, educate and equip those who want to work with these children. Holistic care is necessary for traumatized survivors to find healing from their abuse and to learn the skills needed to succeed in beginning a new life. Hands that Heal is also a tool to inform and inspire churches, communities, organizations, and individuals around the world to engage in the battle against the injustice of sexual exploitation and human trafficking.
The emotional, physical and spiritual damage done to these victims requires special care, understanding and a long-term commitment in order for healing and restoration to take place. Many experts agree that faith-based groups have a distinct advantage in rescuing victims because healing frequently requires a transformation only available through God's grace and mercy.
