Patrick Myers MA (Missions)
Principal/Lecturer
Subjects: Evangelism, Leadership, Spiritual Formation
Pat has been lecturing and building at Eastwest since 1996. Previously he had numerous roles working on pastoral teams, building homes and project managing in the USA—skills which have been invaluable in mentoring students and in the construction of the Eastwest campus. Pat has been married to Karen for 29 years, and they have 4 children. |

Karen Myers
Catering
Manager
Karen is a trained professional hairdresser and served as President of the Married Students’ Association at Columbia International University. Her practicality and counselling skills, in addition to her many years as a pastor’s wife, are an asset to college students and staff. As well as overseeing the college catering, Karen is readily available with a listening ear and a cup of (very good) coffee. |

Jock Brunskill, BCom., LL.B, BMin., MA (Theology)
Dean of Studies/Lecturer:
Subjects: Interpersonal Relationships, Ethics, Intercultural Preaching, Prayer and Spiritual Warfare
A former barrister and solicitor, Jock was senior pastor of Franklin Baptist Church in South Auckland from 1990-1996. In addition to his other roles, he is also responsible for accreditation and liaising with the NZ Tertiary Education Commission. Jock and his wife Cathy have eight children and four grandchildren. |

Lynda Ballard, Nat. Cert. Agricultural Finance, CertAdultTchg
Financial Administrator
Lynda has worked in medical, agricultural and academic institutions. She deals with all visas and financial matters pertinent to the college. As the wife of a local farmer, Lynda has insights which help the college in relating to the community. |

Fiona Fraser MA Archaeology (Hons), Dip Intercultural Studies
Ministry Co-ordinator
Fiona trained as an archaeologist at Glasgow University before joining WEC in 2005, and has been part of the Operation World team preparing a new edition of the book since then. She was based at Bulstrode, the WEC UK HQ for three years where she met her husband Richard. After getting married in 2008, they came to Eastwest College where Richard is studying. Fiona continues to work on the new edition of Operation World while also taking on the role of ministry co-ordinator at the college. |

Joyce Budenberg DipRelS, DipCounselling, NZAC, NZACC
Counsellor
Joyce is a former medical secretary from Ayrshire in Scotland. She spent seven years in Zaire where she taught with her husband Mark at the French Bible College at Gamba. Joyce has trained as a counsellor since coming to New Zealand in 1997 and is now fully qualified and professionally accredited. She is involved in counselling both at Eastwest and in the wider community. More recently she has trained, and is now beginning to practice, as a spiritual director. |

Mark Budenberg BSc(Hons), BD(Hons), DipLib
Lecturer/Librarian
Subjects: Biblical Studies
A former electronics engineer with the British Railways, Mark heard the call to mission service and went to study at Northumbria Bible College in 1983 where he met Joyce. In 1987 they were accepted into WEC International, and after studying French in Paris, they went to Zaire (now renamed Democratic Republic of Congo) and taught for six and a half years at a French language Bible institute. In December 1996, Mark & Joyce were forced to leave Congo because of the civil war and so transferred to Eastwest College. Mark loves reading, especially anything to do with British History. |

Office Manager/ESOL Teacher
Doreen's expertise in human resource management and administration helps to keep the office organized and efficient. She has gained previous work experience in multinational companies and educational institutions. Doreen also has a creative side, designing and making beaded jewellery. |

Gerald Cheah MA(Missions), PGDip(Hons) Arch, BA(Hons)
Lecturer/Promotions
Subjects: Biblical Studies, Biblical Theology of Missions
Gerald was a consultant architect for some years working in Kuala Lumpur, London and Singapore prior to joining the faculty and staff in 2004. He is passionate about conservation and sustainable designs and believes caring for the ecology is an important aspect of our missional call. Besides teaching, he has designed the more recent additions to the campus complex and enjoys spending time with his family. |

Ross Freeman MA(Missiology), CertAdultTchg
Lecturer
Subjects: World Religions
A graduate of Massey University, Ross has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science. He and his family served with WEC in India from 1998-2005 where Ross worked for a water purification company. Ross and his wife Jillian co-ordinate the WEC Trek (short term missions) programme in New Zealand. |

Lecturer
Subjects: Theology, Romans, Using Greek Tools
Peter was a missionary Bible teacher in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Zambia. He has also been a Bible teacher in USA, Australia and the Netherlands. Peter was formerly Eastwest Librarian, and because of his keen interest in cataloguing, he continues to use his skills to process new books for the library. |

Keith Jellyman AdvNursDip, DipMiss, DipCounselling
Pastoral Care Dean / Health & Safety Officer / Lecturer
Subjects: World Religions, Pastoral Care, Spiritual Formation
In addition to his lecturing role, Keith is also the college nurse and pastoral care dean for international students. With his wife, Lynda, he is involved in developing the college grounds. Keith has been involved for some years in ministry to prisons in the region. |

Lynda Jellyman BHortSc
Duties & Prac Coordinator / Landscaping
Lynda worked as a horticultural adviser in a government department for three years prior to her marriage, then Keith and Lynda worked together for three years as market gardeners. They served as missionaries to Thailand with WEC from 1990-95. Lynda has recently studied landscape design, and her touch is evident around the campus. |

Jin Mee Kim CertMiss, BA
Hostess
Jin Mee studied maths at Hanyang University in Korea from 1983-87. She taught maths and worked in computer programming for some years, before coming with her husband Jae Seong Lee to study at Eastwest from 2000-2001. Jin Mee uses her practical and pastoral skills as part of the catering team, and in caring for the overseas students. |

Jae Seong Lee MA(OT Theol), DipMiss, BDEngineering
Lecturer/IT
Subjects: Biblical Studies
Jae Seong has extensive engineering and managerial experience in a petrochemical plant in South Korea. He responded to God’s call to mission and studied at Eastwest from 2000-2001, before doing further studies in Canada. As well as caring pastorally for Korean students at Eastwest, he has a keen concern for Asian students at the local university. |

Jenny McDowall BHortSc(Hons) BTh (Hons)
Lecturer
Subjects: Interpersonal Relationships, Spiritual Formation, ESOL
Jenny trained in horticultural science at Massey University, then worked in research and as a junior lecturer before going to BCNZ (now Laidlaw College) to study to prepare for overseas service. She and her husband Bruce, with their four children, worked in a Tibetan area of China for 11 years with Jian Hua Foundation, returning to NZ in late 2006. She still loves gardens and flowers, China, books, coffee and music though her kids take up most of her spare time. |

Gordon Meehan Dip Intercultural Studies, National Certificate in Horticulture
Site Manager
Gordon is trained in amenity horticulture and worked as a Property Manager prior to coming to Eastwest College. After completing his studies at Eastwest, Gordon and Jan along with their two teenage sons served with WEC in Cambodia until June 2009. His previous ministry involvement has included serving with Ywam and eldership at Mount Maunganui Baptist Church for 15 years. Gordon enjoys camping with his family and fishing. |

Subjects: Foundations (ESOL)
Jan has worked in the accounts department of a law firm and also home schooled their two boys for 11 years. During their time in Cambodia she loved learning the language and also teaching English to young Cambodians. *She's in the process of studying a CertTesol at Massey University. She enjoys reading and bushwalking. |

Allan Shadbolt MA(Missions)
Lecturer/Founding Principal
Subjects: Theology, History of Missions
Allan, who trained as a commercial pilot, was a missionary in India for nine years before being appointed director of WEC International in New Zealand, a role he fulfilled for 14 years. For six years, he was the regional secretary for the West Pacific, providing direction and input into the fields of Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Fiji and a number of other countries. Following retirement in 2002, Allan and Maggie were senior pastors at Horsham Downs Community Church. Allan continues to lecture part-time at the college. |

Lecturer
Subjects: Church Planting
Bhim trained and worked in instrumentation in an oil refinery in South Africa. After studying at the Missionary Training College at Tasmania, he served in Mauritius where he met his wife, Shirley. They have been involved in church planting and became the WEC field leaders during their 12 years in Fiji. Bhim has done professional coaching and its outworking with ministry leaders and businessmen. Before joining Eastwest in 2010, he taught in Bible college overseas and pastored a church. Bhim and his wife Shirley have a son and a daughter. |

Shirley Singh CertMiss, CertRet
Administrator
Shirley, Mauritian by birth, served as missionary with WEC in South Africa and Fiji focusing on church planting, discipleship, spiritual warfare and counselling. Her other ministry includes mentoring students and cell leaders. Shirley has worked in retail and customer care and held a variety of office positions. She has also taught French in Alliance Francaise in Fiji. Shirley enjoys people, a good laugh over coffee and wants to paint sketch. |

Phil Smith MBArch, MA(Applied Linguistics), PGDipSLT, DipTching (Tertiary), BSc
ESOL Co-ordinator/ESOL Teacher
Subjects: Foundations (ESOL), Linguistics Analysis
Phil comes with 16 years of tertiary teaching experience in ESOL, IELTs preparation, Business and Computing. He served with WEC in the Middle East for 12 years and has studied three languages: Persian, Arabic and Chinese. Other studies include a Diploma in Fiction Writing, Business Admin, a Cert TESOL, Cert TEYL and a Certificate in Communicative Linguistics. Phil is passionate about second-language teaching, and also loves camping. |

Lyn Woodford MA(Theol), DipTchg, CertAdultTchg
Lecturer
Subjects: Theology, Language & Linguistics, Church History, Biblical Studies
Lyn was a primary school teacher before training and serving with WEC International in Burkina Faso, West Africa, from 1982-89. With her husband, Brian, she completed the translation of the NT into the Birifor language, and then worked in the international office of WEC in England from 1989-99. More recently, Lyn and Brian have returned twice to Burkina to establish a team to work on the Birifor OT translation. |
